All host sites MUST have a full-time staff member as a VISTA Supervisor.
Supervisors are responsible for recruiting, on-boarding, training, and providing guidance to the VISTA member. Additionally, they are also responsible for ensuring compliance with the VISTA program, reporting VISTA member progress, and communicating with Up2Us Sports and CNCS, when necessary.
VISTA members are a short-term resource to build the long-term sustainability of anti-poverty programs. All VISTA projects should be developed with a goal to phase out the need for VISTA members and strengthen the ability of the project to continue without them.
The following question addresses your plans for phasing the VISTA member out and new systems, processes or resources that will replace the VISTA after one to three years.
This includes timeline for project, specifically what systems the VISTA will put into place to build sustainability and/or resources the VISTA will generate that will support the longer term plan for the project.
The goals below are part of the CNCS Strategic Plan and guide our evaluation of applicants as well as reporting throughout the year. These agency-wide measures allow us to assess the individual and collective results of programs and continue to enhance program effectiveness. A common set of measures also expands our ability to account for the combined contributions of all of our grantees, sponsors and partners, as well as the state service commissions.
For the following questions, please refer directly to the RFP Service Activity Guidance document, below:
CNCS requires reporting on their selected Performance Measures. To read more about what these are, click here.
Up2Us provides support for reporting on the impact of VISTA members, but it is important that your organization is set up to collect and communicate the progress that your VISTA makes on their project.
You're almost done! Please read the information below carefully, ensure all information you have provided is accurate and complete and submit your application below.
As a grantee of Up2Us, all sites must follow regulations around supplementation, non-displacement and non-duplication of employees.
