Become a Coach
Coach Across America (CAA) coaches are role models, mentors, and community leaders. As a CAA coach, you’ll be working with a sports-based youth development (SBYD) organization to bring sports to children who need them the most. This means you’ll leverage the power of play and teamwork to reduce youth violence, promote health, increase academic success, and improve futures. It’s a big commitment and an even larger opportunity. Those who choose to step up to the plate will make a difference in hundreds of lives.
Coaches are placed at organizations around the country for a rewarding experience. These organizations offer a variety of different activities and sports, but they’re all dedicated to the same ideals: using sports and physical activity to empower America’s youth. Each organization must meet a basic set of guidelines when working with a coach in order to provide the most meaningful and impactful experience possible.
We’re especially interested in candidates with previous youth development or sports experience. We also encourage candidates from the local communities to apply. Applicants must be US citizens or lawful residents who are at least 17 years of age.
CAA offers all coaches extensive training and other professional development opportunities, a modest stipend, and an education award that can be used to pay off student loans or be put towards future tuition. Some coaches qualify for childcare benefits, health insurance, and government loan forbearance.
